FAQs
Do YPS need to be referred by a school or agency? - No. Anyone can sign up to any activity they would like to attend. If you are unsure what would be suitable but want to register with the service you can sign up to our waiting list and one of the team will get in touch.
The register button on Eventbrite won't work? - If your register box won’t let you check out, it means there is a field incomplete. Eventbrite can be temperamental and unfortunately it doesn't tell you which box you've missed. Please make sure all drop down boxes/multiple choice answers have been completed. All text boxes must have an entry, therefore put N/A if that box doesn’t apply to you or a 0 in any number field.
What is the difference between HAF and a Bursary Place? - HAF (Holiday Activity & Food) is a government funded scheme for children entitled to Free School meals (FSM) due to household income. This means a place booked as a HAF ticket includes lunch. These places are only available on certain holiday courses and must be booked using E-Vouchers sent out by schools. Bursary places are available for all activities throughout the year and offer subsidised places for those who qualify. See full criteria on our Need to Know page.
Is it okay to book a place on a holiday club if YP is unable to attend all days? - We ask that if you know you have other arrangements that you do not book on to holiday clubs if you cannot attend all days. This is due to being a funded project with limited spaces. We understand during holidays is when appointments such as dentist/ paediatrician etc may be made and are happy to arrange later drop offs/ earlier collections for these.
Will I be able to receive help with transport to and from Holiday Club? - F4YP does not want transport to be a barrier for a YP to attend, if this is something that affects you please contact the team to see how we can help.
How does swimming work? - Swimming sessions run throughout the year in 5-6 week blocks each half term. You need to sign up to our swimming waiting list and our team will allocate you sessions based on YPs ability. Sessions run from 4.30pm-7.15pm, with beginners in the earlier sessions and more advanced in the later sessions. If you have more than 1 YP attending they may well be in different sessions if they have different abilities.
Do you provide lunch? - Lunch is only provided for HAF places booked through E-Vouchers for YP entitled to income related Free School Meals. All Young People are expected to bring a packed lunch and water bottle.
